Track Your Expenses: XpenseTracker
The same people who make TravelTracker also produce
XpenseTracker ($4.99), another useful companion for SMB business trips. There are lots of ways to keep track of your expenditures with the iPhone, but XpenseTracker has a few features that make it particularly appropriate for business expenses as opposed to personal budgets. (Note that there's a completely different iPhone app called ExpenseTracker, which is more in the personal budget category.)
For example, all the expense tracking apps let you group expenses by category (transporation, food, lodging, etc.), but XpenseTracker also lets you group them by trip or occasion. If you travel internationally, it also lets you enter your expense in whatever currency you're using and downloads daily exchange rates. And you can use the iPhone's camera to take photos of your receipts. When your trip's over, e-mail or download the expense report as a CSV file, which can include links to the JPEG photos of your receipts. Finally, if you're on an expense account, the app also provides a way to track the status of your reimbursement.
