Print From Your Phone: Print n Share
Even with a virtual storage and collaboration space, sometimes you still need to put something on paper. The iPhone doesn't have print drivers or a USB port, so what are you to do?
Turn to
Print n Share ($6.99) from WePrint. This app lets you print Web pages and e-mails, plus those Microsoft Office files you've been working on. It also enables you to mount your iPhone as a hard drive for copying files, a simple action that isn't supported by iTunes.
The only catch is that to do all that, you need access to a computer that's running the WePrint Server software and that has software to handle the file you want to print. It makes sense if you think about it: the printer has to be connected to something with print drivers, and that something has to be capable of printing the file in question.
You may ask, though, why not just transfer the file and print from the computer? Answer: if it's not your computer, you don't want to put your files on it. Carry the server software on a USB thumb drive and let it run from there. Presto: you're printing from your phone.
If you already have iTunes, go directly to
Print n Share.
