Video Health

In response to more consumers tapping into the Internet to research illnesses and treatments, the Charleston Area Medical Center, a multihospital organization serving West Virginia, launched an online repository of streaming-video presentations on health issues. Consumers can view videos on topics such as blood pressure, mental health, and understanding prescriptions. The center also is using Mediasite Live Webcasting software from Sonic Foundry Inc. to provide continuing education to health-care professionals.
