Population Pharmacokinetics Studies With Nonlinear Mixed Effects Modeling

Date: January 2008
Type: White Paper
Rating: (0)

Overview: Population pharmacokinetics is the application of statistical and programming expertise to convert data into knowledge. Pharmacokinetic and PK/PD models applied to drug concentration-time data can provide crucial information in early and late stage clinical development or post-marketing development. This paper from SAS Institute presents how population PK can estimate the typical PK and/or PD parameters in a population of patients, investigate and identify sources of variability that explain differences in the parameters between patients, and quantify the impact of these covariates. SAS NLMIXED procedure is also introduced.
