Overview: As a premier Korean university, Pusan National University (PNU) places high importance on providing accessible, high-quality education through state-of-the art equipment and techniques. In its 60th year, PNU growth resulted in inability to manage growing digital data like student records, course materials, financial information and digital library. PNU was having insufficient computing power to allow for data search, analysis and aggregation. To meet these challenges, the IT center of PNU moved to a 64-bit computing architecture in 2003. PNU constructed a data warehouse and Education Statistics Information System (ESIS) with online analytical processing (OLAP).
