Overview: Tecnomatix software solutions are simulating the new equipment control and fleet management systems at the Europe Container Terminal (ECT), Europe’s largest transportation hub of its kind. Siemens PLM Software, a global division of Siemens Automation and Drives, is working with Navis LCC, a global leader in resource optimization technology for the transportation and logistics industries, and TBA Nederland, a logistics specialist, contracted by Gottwald Port Technology to simulate ECT’s equipment control and fleet management systems. In an innovative application of the product, Tecnomatix Plant Simulation was chosen because of its ability to test the functionality and performance of Navis’ high-level control software before it is installed.
