Overview: Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) is an option of Oracle Database that was first introduced with Oracle9i. Oracle RAC allows Oracle Database to run any packaged or custom application, unchanged across a set of clustered servers. Oracle RAC provides a foundation for Oracle’s Enterprise Grid Computing Architecture. By dramatically reducing administration costs and providing new levels of administration flexibility, Oracle is enabling the enterprise Grid environment.
