Overview: Air Products wanted the cost savings of a re-usable plant design module, but that required a new IT infrastructure capable of supporting teamwork and maximizing the re-use of product knowledge across the enterprise. Air Products’ next challenge was to implement an infrastructure that would facilitate modular plant design. A key consideration was finding a way to improve collaboration. The company implemented Teamcenter software as the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) infrastructure to create, capture and share product knowledge, enterprise-wide. By using Teamcenter, it digitally links all participants in plant sales, design and operations processes.
