Overview: This paper highlights performance characterization testing of an HP Integrity Superdome server and an HP Storage Works XP12000 Disk Array in an Oracle 10g environment. HP constructed an HP-UX, Oracle 10g Superdome and SAN storage configuration to perform proof-of-concept testing for an HP customer. The aim of the testing was to create a database environment that gives the performance and availability necessary for an enterprise-class data ware house environment.
