Overview: Plasticos Castella previous approach was based on a combination of UGS’ I-deas NX Series software and 2D CAD which had limitations that hampered efforts to speed mold design. It was difficult to create parting lines for complicated plastic pieces and since there was no link between the customer’s part design and the digital mold models, it was impossible to react quickly to changes. This led Plasticos Castella to look for a solution. UGS had the answer: NX and NX Mold Wizard, an advanced, automated system for mold design.
