Date: January 2008
Type: White Paper
Rating: (0)

Overview: Power to handle the most challenging applications is delivered by Quad or Dual-Core Intel Xeon processors, up to 48 GB of 667 MHz DDR2 memory, four Gigabit Ethernet server adapters and a choice of four hot plug Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) or Serial ATA (SATA) hard drives. The new Quad-Core Xeon 5400 series processors with 12MB Level 2 (L2) cache and 1333 MHz Front Side Bus (FSB) are designed for maximum performance. This paper from Hewlett-Packard describes a performance characterization performed utilizing the HP 64-bit test harness, which incorporates a Microsoft Office 2003 workload.
