This portfolio of solutions includes the Avaya S87xx Media Server, Avaya S8500 Media Server and the Avaya S8300 Media Server. Avaya offers the Local Survivable Processor (LSP) and as of CM3.1 Standard Local Survivability (SLS) to continue to provide service in the case of broken connectivity between remote sites and main locations. This paper presents a discussion about the Avaya S8300 and S8500 Media Server configured as a Local Survivable Processor (LSP) and how the LSP provides the added layer of survivability.
