Overview: In order for application delivery to work, the applications and the network have to work in concert. Cisco Systems’ Mark Leary discusses how striking the right balance between availability, performance, security, capital costs, and operating costs in all three areas -- the network, in the data center, and the end user – is a major challenge for today’s IT organizations. According to Leary, in application delivery, knowledge is everything: recognizing the warning signs of trouble; the underlying problems and the appropriate solutions; knowing the actual results and the consequences of those results. Perhaps the most important thing is knowing what is next for your applications, and for your network.
