Overview: Ethernet dominates the LAN (Local Area Network) and has done so for many years; approximately 97% of Internet traffic originates or terminates on an Ethernet interface. Ethernet as an interface in networking, Ethernet is more cost-effective than other WAN technologies. Ethernet supports speeds up to 10 Gbps and bandwidth can be increased quickly and easily in increments of 1 Mbps, so enterprise users can match their bandwidth usage to their requirements.
