Overview: IP-VPNs would know no geographic boundaries - wherever the Internet was, there could be a VPN site or a remote worker accessing the VPN. Although leveraging the Internet addressed the geographic reach dimension of a VPN deployment, issues such as QoS and security still prevailed - a key security concern being the protection of the various routing and management protocols that are at the heart of an IP-VPN services offer. Multiservice networks, on the other hand, are well-known for their security and QoS. Given these factors, it was only natural to leverage multiservice networks for the delivery of IP-VPN services.
