Olin College of Engineering challenge was to build a communications network equal to the college’s ambition to educate a new breed of engineering students by emphasizing an interactive curriculum, interdisciplinary design, entrepreneurship, creativity and advanced communications skills. Olin College has deployed Nortel Ethernet Routing Switches (formerly known as Passport Multiservice Switches), the Communications Server 1000 (formerly known as Succession 1000), the Multimedia Communication Server 5100 and a Nortel VPN Router solution (formerly known as Contivity VPN).
