Overview: A group of United Kingdom banks made plans to reduce payment times of transactions (involving telephone or Internet instructions from customers) from days to seconds. Fundtech Corporation conducted a performance test to demonstrate that Global PAYplus (GPP) could meet the bank’s requirements for performance, as described in the service level agreement (SLA) for the Faster Payments Initiative. The objective of the test was to process transactions fully utilizing the available resources. The paper describes the test environment, including hardware, software, and testing schedule and guidelines.
