Overview: X.400 P7 is used in many ways and it would be impractical and confusing to test all combinations. This white paper summarizes the common usage models as full message fetching, list based on message status, empty mailbox, and large mailbox as archive, periodic fetch and auto-alert with immediate fetch. Message submission is done using a P7 client to M-Store X.400, which in turn submits to M-Switch X.400 using P3. Tests are done with multiple clients, and it is seen that additional clients slightly reduce overall submission rate.
