Date: January 2008
Type: White Paper
Rating: (0)

Overview: The Sensor Web is an emerging trend which makes various types of web-resident sensors, instruments, image devices, and repositories of sensor data, discoverable, accessible, and controllable via the World Wide Web. A lot of effort has been invested in order to overcome the obstacles associated with connecting and sharing these heterogeneous sensor resources. This research paper highlights the Sensor Web Enablement (SWE) standard defined by the Open GIS Consortium (OGC), which is composed of a set of specifications, including Sensor ML, Observation & Measurement, Sensor Collection Service, Sensor Planning Service and Web Notification Service.
