Overview: A key component of the market mechanism is the concept of Capacity Provision Networks (CPNs), through which ISPs can participate in multilateral trading of cache capacity. This paper introduces the CPN concept and explains why this model of cooperation is a good match for the emerging ISP connectivity paradigm. The paper also discusses the architectural and economic implications of CPNs and examines some potential opportunities and challenges ahead.
