Overview: The Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is an intriguing architectural concept focused on the loose coupling of integrated elements. SOA?s aim is to minimize unnecessary dependencies among systems and software elements while maintaining functionality. This paper explores how SOA and supportive technologies such as XML, WSDL and BOMs can begin to be applied to provide loose coupling and better support distributed simulations, including the HLA - and how this concept is being applied to support aggregation.
