Overview: The road to 4G wireless is not straight and smooth, but will probably be filled with implementation bumps and detours. However, a clear path is being developed, as Fanny Mlinarsky shows in her presentation. She discusses the current state of and future plans for a variety of protocols and standards, including 802.11, 802.16, 3GPP, ITM-2000, and ITM-Advanced. She further discusses developments in HSPA, HSPA+, WiMAX, and LTE.
