Overview: As the demand for mobile communication and computing devices increases, it becomes more necessary to connect ubiquitous and various mobile devices efficiently. Thereby, WPAN technologies such as Bluetooth have been gaining increasing interest from various industries. Bluetooth is generally considered a promising wireless technology for portable devices because of its inexpensive cost, low power and small size. But, if a Bluetooth device has high mobility, its ongoing communications can be disconnected easily due to the low power characteristic of Bluetooth. Therefore, consideration on mobility and handoff becomes more necessary for the Bluetooth system.
