Overview: This paper published by HP provides a guideline for how to configure HP OpenView Storage Data Protector and perform backup/restore of DB2 Partitioned Database (UDB V8) on AIX 5.x operating systems. The versions of HP OpenView Storage Data Protector addressed in this paper are A.05.10 and A.05.50. This paper states the limitations and considerations when using Data Protector in this environment and explains the procedure used for configuring Data Protector to be able to perform backup or restore of the databases in the partitioned environment.
