Overview: Spyware refers to software that is been installed on a computer without consent and that does things like collecting personal information without being aware of it, changing how ones computer or web browser is configured, or bombarding with online advertisements. Because ones cable modem or DSL connection is always connected, it means that ones always on the Internet, even if not actually browsing websites or checking ones email. There are measures like free tools that can be installed to monitor for spyware and remove existing problems, simple tips and guidelines available to minimize exposure to spyware.
