Overview: Spyware refers to software that is been installed on a computer without consent and that does things like collecting personal information without being aware of it, changing how one?s computer or web browser is configured, or bombarding with online advertisements. Because one?s cable modem or DSL connection is always connected, it means that one?s always ?on the Internet,? even if not actually browsing websites or checking one?s email. There are measures like free tools that can be installed to monitor for spyware and remove existing problems, simple tips and guidelines available to minimize exposure to spyware.
