Overview: Spyware performs activities on the computer without one's knowledge or consent. Spyware software uses technology to secretly gather information about a person or organization and gathers and relays information about the user to advertisers or other interested parties. Spyware is part of an overall public concern about privacy on the Internet. Organizations that are successful in using Information Technology to manage current and future business risks will achieve increased employee efficiency, reduced costs, enhanced levels of customer service, and a competitive advantage in their marketplace.
