Karsten Manufacturing In China Combating The Threat Of Counterfeiting

Overview: The golf club manufacturing industry generates hundreds of millions of dollars each year in the United States alone. The biggest manufactures and distributors of golf clubs are headquartered in California or Arizona. However, some 80-90% of all these companies merchandise is produced and manufactured in China, Taiwan and Japan. Of the major manufacturers, only Karsten Manufacturing, makers of Ping (located in Tempe, Arizona) still manufactures almost all of their equipment in the U.S. The other major manufacturers, Adams, Callaway, Cleveland, Cobra, Nike, TaylorMade, and Titleist have almost all of their equipment manufactured in China’s Pearl River Delta region. The combination of cheap skilled workers and technical expertise has created what seams to be a dream come true for manufacturers.
