Source: Data Domain
Date: March 2009
Type: White Paper
Rating: (0)

Overview:
Kahn Consulting, Inc. (KCI) has assessed Data Domain deduplication storage systems using criteria derived from broad compliance requirements and best practices related to information management.

In this paper, KCI evaluates the Data Domain deduplication architecture and specifically how its Data Invulnerability Architecture is designed to protect system data using a number of techniques, including:

• Data verification
• Fault avoidance and containment
• Continuous fault detection and repair
• File system recoverability

Business best practices and many laws and regulations require digital information to have integrity. In order to be admissible in court, the party seeking to introduce electronically stored information must be able to demonstrate that information is authentic. KCI evaluates Data Domain capabilities within the context of how they meet these requirements.
