VERITAS Backup Exec 10 for Windows Servers was tested with disk and tape, and Computer Associates ARCserve 11.1 was tested with disk, tape, and tape multiplexing. This paper highlights Disk to disk data protection solutions offer performance Advantages when compared to the tape multiplexing solution that was tested. The introduction of inexpensive disk products has changed the data protection landscape. Disk to disk backups not only solves the problems of backup device availability, it is becoming more fiscally feasible.
