Overview: According to UniComm’s Van Doren, Unified Communications is “communications integrated to optimize business processes.” Naturally, this means different things to different businesses and the appropriate UC solution will be the one that most effectively addresses the specific processes a given enterprise wishes to optimize. Van Doren presents the two major use cases of UC: Improving user productivity and enhancing business processes. He presents the characteristics of each use case, the total value and ROI, as well as the tools needed to implement these use cases. Van Doren also clearly outlines the benefits realized by implementing UC business process applications.
