Troubleshooting IP Telephony Networks

Date: March 2009
Type: Presentation
Rating: (0)

Overview: Brian Gollaher, a Senior Product Manager at Empirix, discusses the practical considerations in troubleshooting an IP Telephony network. Before troubleshooting, however, you have to know there is a problem. Monitoring the network is a key consideration and can take many forms: passive monitoring, active monitoring, and infrastructure monitoring. Also to be considered: What are the right metrics for tracking voice quality, MOS scores or more automated measurements? How do you derive and act on this information in real time? How do the various IT management teams share information and reports so as to expedite troubleshooting?
