The Packet Interconnect Opportunity for MSOs

Date: January 2008
Type: White Paper
Rating: (0)

Overview: Interconnection of the Multiple Service Operator (MSO) Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) network to other carriers networks must be well planned and executed to ensure both that service revenue grows as quickly as possible and that extraneous costs are driven out of the network. Most cable operators are implementing Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) interconnections from their softswitches to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). This paper describes a methodology for planning packet interconnections between MSO and carrier networks.
