Overview: London Underground is the world’s oldest and most complex subway rail network, with 500 trains running at peak hours. The LUL IM Solutions Development team develops systems and tools to support efficient network management across all 12 lines. It operates a system called TrackerNet that allows employees to observe the movement of rolling stock on the network in real-time. LUL investigated new technologies for its GUI strategy and concluded that Microsoft Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) was the most suitable technology. Valley. Using WPF, Microsoft Expression Blend, and Microsoft Visual Studio 2005, LUL deployed an application as an XAML browser.
