Overview: To ensure security, Boodle Hatfield used to employ a lock-down policy that restricted employees’ ability to connect portable devices and customize their desktops. Employees were unable to carry out simple tasks, such as rearrange their taskbars to make their daily task list more efficient. Furthermore, tasks such as accessing memory sticks required a member of the IT team to visit the machine and log on as administrator, which disrupted employees and took up considerable IT resources. Boodle Hatfield deployed Windows Vista to create a more secure environment where employees could customize their desktop machines and connect to remote devices.
