Others complain that, more often than not, traces and events are merely by-products of secondary activities (such as debugging and self-monitoring features), and that not enough importance is placed on eventing and tracing capabilities. Microsoft Windows Vista aims to change these perceptions, offering a giant step forward in enterprise management. Microsoft has overhauled some of the key components and their user interfaces. The Event Log service has been completely rewritten with the enterprise in mind, and tracing has been made much faster and more secure.
