Overview: SNCF, the French national railway system, is responsible for freight and passenger rail services and rail maintenance. SNCF operates roughly 14,000 trains daily and employs 180,000 people. As part of its ongoing privatization, SNCF needed to develop compelling customer-oriented services that would increase customer satisfaction and enhance its brand image. Working with Microsoft and a design partner, SNCF created a gadget for Windows Sidebar that provides customers with important scheduling, traffic, and frequent traveler account information.
