PAPR Reduction of OFDM Signal Using Turbo Coding and Selective Mapping

Date: January 2008
Type: White Paper
Rating: (0)

Overview: Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technique is a promising technique to offer high data rate and reliable communications over fading channels. OFDM has become tangible reality; it has been employed for wire-line communications and also has been employed in wireless local area network (WLAN). Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technique is a promising technique to offer high data rate and reliable communications over fading channels. The main implementation disadvantage of OFDM is the possibility of high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR). This paper presents a novel technique to reduce the PAPR using turbo coding and SeLective Mapping (SLM).
