Simplified Analysis for Indoor Propagation of a WLAN Channel

Date: January 2008
Type: White Paper
Rating: (0)

Overview: According as Wireless LAN (WLAN) systems based on IEEE802.11 have become wide spread over the last few years, it has been one of the most significant research topics to investigate how radio waves propagate inside office environments, since local objects like pillars, walls, doors and windows may reduce the link performance of such low power systems. In this paper, a simple and easy 2D-FDTD analysis of indoor propagation of a WLAN channel is made an attempt. The FDTD numerical experiment for a real indoor model and the simplified measurement of the signal strength at 2.4GHz band are both executed.
