Modeling Energy Efficient Secure Wireless Networks Using Network Simulation
Overview: Mobile devices operating under severe resource constraints; such as processing power, memory, network bandwidth, and battery energy; have strict security requirements (data integrity, privacy and authenticity) due to the inherent discontinuity, unreliability, lack of physical boundaries and other constraints of wireless medium. Energy consumed by computation and communication intensive security protocols used to provide these services is a function of the size of data transferred and the security level of the session and is a significant fraction of the total system energy.
