Overview: Intel IT is developing a new Wireless LAN (WLAN) architecture for small offices that accelerates infrastructure configuration time from months to days and delivers an estimated 43 percent net present cost savings over four years. By implementing WLAN as the primary connectivity method and using new devices that integrate data, voice, and video, this paper is dramatically improving the process for setting up a small office, increasing the agility and productivity, and reducing network setup and maintenance costs. This paper has adopted a standards-based approach to the design, adding proprietary specifications where necessary, and is implementing the architecture and design using the Cisco Unified Wireless Network.
