MAP: Medial Axis Based Geometric Routing in Sensor Networks

Date: January 2008
Type: White Paper
Rating: (0)

Overview: This paper from Springer Science+Business Media shows that a compact and expressive concept of network connectivity by the medial axis enables efficient and localized routing. Medial axis of the network captures both the complex geometry and non-trivial topology of the sensor field. It can be represented succinctly by a graph whose size is in the order of the complexity of the geometric features (e.g., the number of holes). The paper focuses on routing in wireless sensor networks, where sensor nodes are stationary and deployed in a geometric space.
