Nortel Network Case Study: Inha University

Date: January 2008
Type: White Paper
Rating: (0)

Overview:  Inha University’s existing network had 11,000 LAN nodes and its network backbone was based on mixed Gigabit Ethernet and ATM technologies. But as user traffic was rising every day, and with the University’s newly built electronic library, the JungSeok Scientific Information Center and Inha High-Tech Centre coming online, it was necessary to add about 4,000 additional LAN nodes to the network. Nortel Ethernet Switch 470 and 460 and Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch 8600 were chosen as the network backbone. A Nortel Switched Firewall was installed across the network to solve security problems and for the convenience of students.
