Rapid Prototyping of Mobile Input Devices Using Wireless Sensor Nodes

Date: January 2008
Type: White Paper
Rating: (0)

Overview: Current input device hardware for immersive 3D environments is expensive, fragile, and usually not wireless, and the variety is limited to a few general purpose controllers such as wands and pinch gloves. Since the field still in its infancy, it is not known whether or not these controllers are actually the best solutions for the domain, and more experimentation with novel controllers is needed. This paper presents a simple, inexpensive solution for rapid prototyping of input devices using the MANTIS wireless sensor network platform.
