Overview: Whenever a sector of the economy, for instance Information and Communication Technology (ICT), is not operating at its optimum level, the government should be willing to acknowledge this fact and seek help from the private sector. The examples from Ghana show that there is much to be gained from privatization. But before any government rushes into privatizing its companies, it should first look at some of the problems that privatization can bring.
