Overview: This paper published by Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region describes that Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) is a technology aimed at providing high-speed access, using wireless means, to networks for users over a wide area. Such networks also have the potential of reaching locations which would not be economically viable to be reached by copper and optical fibre networks. Customer access networks based on this technology can be rolled out relatively quickly as no road opening is involved.
