UC in the Cloud: Does It Make Sense for You?
For organizations contemplating a unified communications deployment, cloud-based UC is on the menu. As with SaaS and online services such as CRM, cloud-based UC can provide easier deployment vs. traditional premises products, offer speedy upgrades of applications and features, and reduce IT's management burden.
However, cloud-based UC has significant differences from other online services. In particular, UC in the cloud won't eliminate all the premises equipment that will be deployed at a customer site.
