Among the 260 business technology professionals taking part in our InformationWeek State of Unified Communications Survey, 68% say their companies have either have deployed UC or plan to do so within 24 months. Among these respondents:

>> 66% say the IT director/manager (44%) or CIO (22%) played the greatest role in ­developing the strategic vision for unified communications.

>> 61% say audioconferencing is very important; it’s cited as the most critical ­component of a UC deployment.


>> 42% see an untrained user base as the top barrier to full adoption of a deployed ­unified communications system.

>> 25% say an aging network infrastructure is the most pressing concern in terms of quality of service.

In this report we:

>> Examine the business and technology trends putting pressure on IT to delay unified communications projects.

>> Discuss drivers to get UC unstuck, including demonstrating positive ROI. 

Respondent breakdown: 38% work for companies with 5,000 or more employees; 26% work for companies with 10,000 employees. Education, financial services and government are well represented, and 48% are IT director/manager or IT executive management (C-level/VP) level. (R6520413)
