Salaries Stagnant For Network, Data Center IT
Median base salaries for networking and data center IT pros remained essentially flat from 2012 to 2013. Base salaries for data center managers and data center staff rose a median of 1.6% and 1.3%, respectively, according to the InformationWeek 2013 U.S. IT Salary Survey. IT pros in the networking field didn't fare much better. Management saw salaries increase 1.3%, while staff saw a rise of 1.2%. Our data comes from 1,137 networking and data center management professionals that we surveyed from November 2012 to January of this year.
Those are the percentages. What about dollar figures? For data center professionals, median base salary is $85,000 for staff and $100,000 for managers. Networkers make less: $80,000 for staff and $95,000 for management. (R6460413-NW)

Purpose To track IT salary and compensation trends from the perspective of those on the front lines, InformationWeek conducts an annual U.S. IT Salary Survey. Now in its 16th year, it's the largest employee-based IT salary survey in the country. Last year 13,880 full-time IT professionals completed the Web-based survey. This year 14,074 took part. The goal of this trendable study is to measure various aspects of compensation, benefits and job satisfaction. This report focuses on the 1,137 networking and data center management professionals who participated in the survey.
