Why CIOs Must Be More Social

Kimberly Clark CIO Ramon Baez makes Top 25 Most Social CIOs list, explains why it's important to burst the corporate cocoon.

"I just think this is an important part of our arsenal, going forward. Our business leaders are getting it. If I thought this was just something the kids do, I suspect my CEO would think differently of me--it's very possible--as someone who is not forward thinking, innovative, thinking about how to break down barriers across the company."

re: Why CIOs Must Be More Social
Proud that CSC's own David McCue made the list. I can't be more thrilled. He's the real deal. What the world doesn't know is the strong sponsorship I've had from him from the beginning on CSC's social business journey. As the business strategy lead for CSC's own Social Business program, I've been thrilled to have David's strong sponsorship and guidance on this program. Because of his leadership we have an industry-award winning case study and successful internal social community (employees), we are just about to launch a private/gated community (for private collaboration with external parties/customers) and we have an external community that is now full steam ahead under our company's CMO. Furthermore, David has inspired employees with his use of these tools internally to lead and communicate for several years. And as this article states, he's leading in very public ways as well. To me, this is public evidence of something we see in him everyday within our own company.
