At CES, I visited the Internet of Things Consortium to see what was happening with startups in the Internet of Things, also known as machine-to-machine, or M2M, space were talking about.
The Dog Positioning System from Telit Wireless Solutions uses GPS and a cellular transmitter to locate lost dogs.
At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas earlier this month, I went to a party for the Internet of Things Consortium, hosted by Jason Johnson, who is managing partner at Founders Den. Founders Den calls itself "...a shared office space and private club for experienced entrepreneurs and their friends." Johnson is working on a startup in the Internet of Things (also known as machine-to-machine, or M2M) space as well, but used the party to get people in the emerging industry talking to each other.
